How do I update Alfred?

We update Alfred regularly to optimize the performance. In this article, you will find out how to

Update Alfred manually

To manually update the Alfred app to the latest version, please

1. Open the or  app
2. Search Alfred Home Security Camera
3. Tap the Update button
   

Set Alfred to update automatically

📱 Android devices 

1. Open the Google Play Store app 
2. At the top right, tap the profile icon
3. Tap "Manage apps & device"
4. Tap "Manage", and select Alfred
5. To open the app's "Details" page, tap the app
6. On the app's "Details" page, tap More 
7. Tap "Enable auto-update"

📱 iOS devices

1. Go to System Settings 
2. Tap "App Store" 
3. Turn on the toggle for "App Updates"

Update Alfred remotely (Android-only)

If your Camera device is an Android device, you can update the Alfred app remotely from your computer or mobile device. 

 🖥 Remotely update from the computer

1. Go to Alfred's page on Google Play Store
2. Click on the green button that says “Installed”
   
   3. Select your device, and tap "INSTALL"
   

⚠️ Please update your Camera and Viewer devices to the latest version to get the best results. 

📱 Remotely update from the mobile device

1. Open Chrome browser
2. Switch to desktop mode
   
3. Long press this link "Alfred’s page on Google Play Store"
4. Choose "Open in a new tab" (you cannot do this through the Google Play Store app)
5. Press "Installed", and a menu for your device will appear
6. Select the appropriate device
7. Tap "INSTALL"
8. Wait for five minutes
9. Refresh the Alfred app, and your device should be updated

Unsupported Alfred app version

As the development environment evolves, maintaining old app versions has become more challenging. As a result, we update the last compatible app version once every quarter of the year in order to provide the best user experience and support new features.

Starting on July 17th, 2024, if your devices are running on the below app versions, you will no longer be able to log in:

• Android: 2024.20.2 will be the minimum supported app version.
• iOS device: 2024.5.1 will be the minimum supported app version.
  

If you have trouble updating the app, please follow the steps below:

• Can’t update the Alfred app on Android devices
• Can’t update the Alfred app on iOS devices

Update firmware for AlfredCam (AC101)

When a new AlfredCam firmware version is released in the Alfred app, please follow the steps below to update your AlfredCam firmware from your Viewer device (mobile device or tablet): 

1. On your camera list, tap the Camera settings wheel for your AlfredCam
   
   
2. Tap the "Firmware Version"
   
   
3. Tap "Update"
   （Tap the "1" badge instead of Update for iOS devices）
   
   
4. Tap the "Update" button
   
   
5. Tap "Start" to confirm the update
