Viewer Priority is a distinctive feature designed to empower AlfredCamera users, both free and Premium, with the ability to manage access to their Camera's live feed more effectively.
For free users, the maximum number of simultaneous Viewers is set to one, while Premium users enjoy the capability to have up to three Viewers at the same time. Given this capacity, situations may arise where the number of users attempting to access the live feed exceeds these limits.
This is where Viewer Priority comes into play. As the camera owner, you have the prerogative to assign access priority. This means you can decide who gets to connect to the live session first when multiple Viewers are trying to access the Camera simultaneously. Whether it's other devices under your Alfred account or individuals within your Trust Circle, this feature ensures that critical viewing access is managed according to your preferences and needs.
How do I set up Viewer Priority?
- Enter Camera Settings
- Tap Viewer Priority
- Choose a Viewer Priority setting that you prefer
There are 3 Viewer Priority settings you can choose from:
Always Accept
This default setting prioritizes real-time access and responsiveness. If your Camera reaches its maximum Viewer limit, this setting will allow any new incoming Viewer to start a Live session. As a result, one of the current Viewers' sessions will be gracefully terminated to make room for the new connection.
This ensures that critical moments are not missed, especially in situations where immediate access by a specific Viewer is crucial.
Owner First
This is a crucial setting designed to ensure that, as the camera owner, you always have priority access to your live feeds, even when Trust Circle members are actively viewing them.
This setting guarantees that if you attempt to connect to your Camera while it's being viewed by a Trust Circle member, their viewing session will be seamlessly transitioned out, granting you immediate access.
⚠️ Note: It's also essential to understand that this priority access extends to any Viewer device registered under the owner's Alfred account. This means if another device under your account tries to access the live session and the Viewer limit has been reached, the current session will be terminated to accommodate the new connection.
Always Reject
This setting is designed for users who seek an extra layer of control and privacy over their live feed access. When activated, this setting will automatically reject any new viewer connection attempts if the Camera is already in use.
This ensures that your live session remains uninterrupted and exclusive to the current Viewer until they choose to disconnect.

Can I grant top priority to a specific device?
Currently, AlfredCamera does not offer the functionality to assign top priority to a specific device. Our system is designed to ensure fairness and ease of access for all users, with predefined settings like "Owner First" and "Always Reject" to manage viewer priority. While this means individual devices cannot be prioritized uniquely, these settings help maintain a balanced and secure monitoring environment for everyone involved.
